Every day in Atlanta, people walk, bike, or cross the street and don't make it home. Behind every crash is a person, a family, and a story that doesn’t end when the news cycle moves on.
Atlanta Families for Safe Streets (AFSS) exists so that no one has to carry that experience alone.
What This Meeting Is
We’re bringing together those directly impacted by traffic violence—family members and survivors—for a supportive, in-person community gathering.
This is a space to:
- Connect with others who understand what you’re going through
- Share your experience, if and when you’re ready
- Be part of a growing community working toward safer streets
You are welcome to come just to listen. There is no pressure to speak.
Why This Matters Now
In recent months, families in Atlanta have stepped forward to call for safer streets, sharing their stories, honoring loved ones, and asking the City to follow through on its commitments.
At a recent gathering on Peachtree Street, family members stood alongside AFSS steering committee members, Propel ATL, and City Councilmembers to call for a safer crossing where lives have been lost.
