As we expand our reach and influence, we are seeking a motivated communications coordinator to support our efforts. 

Position Summary

We are looking for a creative communications coordinator to support our communication strategies and initiatives. In this role, you will assist in creating and distributing content that effectively communicates our organization’s messages to various audiences. You will collaborate closely with different team members to ensure consistent messaging and contribute to enhancing our brand's visibility and reputation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing content for social media posts, newsletters, and other communication materials
• Create and curate engaging content for our social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X.com, LinkedIn, and Reddit)
• Monitor and analyze social media trends, insights, and best practices to optimize performance
• Manage and oversee social media content calendar and scheduling
• Assist in monitoring and responding to inquiries and comments on social media platforms
• Develop and disseminate bi-weekly email newsletter 
• Coordinate with internal team members to gather information and updates for communication purposes and fundraising efforts 
• Monitor media coverage and compile media mentions or reports
• Support media relations efforts by drafting pitches and maintaining media lists
• Contribute to maintaining and updating Propel ATL’s website content

Qualifications

• Internship or relevant work experience in communications, public relations, or a related field
• Experience with graphic design, video editing, and newsletter marketing software
• Basic knowledge of media relations practices and principles
• Demonstrated interest in and understanding of current communications trends and best practices
• Knowledge of Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media best practices
• Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics

WORKPLACE FORMAT

Hybrid: Mostly virtual, with occasional in-person events and meetings, including some on evenings and weekends
