Propel ATL, formerly the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition and PEDS, seeks an experienced finance and operations professional to join our team. Guided by our strategic plan, this role will lead our internal operations, with a specialized focus on our financial systems and supporting our Executive Director and Development Director.

Position Summary
The Finance and Operations Manager, a crucial role at Propel ATL, will advance our mission by overseeing financial management and ensuring efficient operational processes. This position requires a strategic thinker who can manage financial reconciliations, create and analyze financial reports, and ensure compliance with necessary registrations and audits. The Finance and Operations Manager will collaborate closely with the Executive Director and the Board Finance Committee to support financial planning and transparency.
In addition to financial responsibilities, they will provide operational support to our small team, including basic website maintenance, administering software systems, and assisting with team hiring and onboarding processes. They will also play a key role in organizing events and supporting various organizational activities. Their efforts will be essential in maintaining Propel ATL’s operational efficiency and enabling the team to focus on advancing our mission.
Responsibilities
Financial & Operational
FinancialÂ
- Perform monthly financial reconciliation of all income and expenses using Quickbooks Online (QBO), including categorization of expenses and income to the appropriate account and class, and creation and updating of invoices
- Create monthly financial reports for distribution to the Board Finance Committee
- Assist the Development Director in managing all incoming donations, including several online donation portals, ensuring all donations are accounted for in QBO, and sending donor acknowledgement letters
- Ensure Propel ATL is up-to-date on all required registrations to receive donations from online donor portals and government grant portals
- Lead yearly audit efforts in partnership with external auditors
- Lead yearly internal budget development in partnership with the Executive Director
- Attend monthly Board Finance Committee meetings to review financial reports and provide information to committee members
- Make monthly IRA contributions for Propel ATL employees through an online portal
- Record incoming physical checks and prepare online check deposit slips
OperationalÂ
- Monitor, organize, and distribute mail received through the virtual mailbox.
- Monitor designated Propel ATL email inboxes
- Serve as administrator for all Propel ATL technologies and software systems used by team members, ensuring subscriptions are up to date and relevant team members have access
- Support the Executive Director with the hiring process and onboarding of new team members
- Assist in organizing Propel ATL’s yearly fundraising event, the Blinkie Awards
- Provide operational support for in-person events, such as bicycle training classes, community advocacy events, etc.
- Provide light communications support, such as compiling bi-weekly newsletters using content provided by other staff, scheduling social media posts from provided content, posting content to the website, etc
- Download donor-related reports for internal use and grant reporting requirements
- Support for end-of-year giving appeal/mailer campaign
- Provide as-needed operational support to Propel ATL team members and Propel ATL Board members

Successful candidates will exhibit the following qualifications:Â
EXPERIENCE
Two or more years of experience in:
- Financial reconciliation and reporting using Quickbooks Online (QBO)
- Managing donations and donor relations
- Supporting audit processes and internal budget development
- Providing operational support in a non-profit or small organization setting

FORMAT

Hybrid: Mostly remote; requires some evenings and weekends, as well as occasional in-person engagements at various locations across Atlanta.

- Annual paid holidays include one week in winter, 10 recognized holidays, and nine floating days
