Over the last few years, a heavily travelled stretch of Memorial Drive has been transformed—from a dangerous, four-lane car sewer which invited high speeds, to a calmer street, with space allocated to a protected, two-way, bike and scoot lane.

The surrounding neighborhoods came together to advocate for this project alongside Propel ATL, and the Georgia Department of Transportation delivered. Even as we continue to push for improvements, it's time to take a moment to celebrate this milestone.

You bring the scissors, we'll bring the ribbon!
We'll meet at the corner of Tye Street SE and Memorial Drive at 5:30 p.m., cut the ribbon at 5:45 p.m., then meet at Das BBQ for a social hour, where participants will get 25 percent off their order thanks to Das BBQ!
For those coming from East Atlanta, Edgewood, Grant Park, Kirkwood, Ormewood Park, or Reynoldstown, volunteers will lead a bike bus, allowing participants to ride as a group.
Participants acknowledge that cycling involves inherent risks and agree to assume full responsibility for their participation. Participants release and hold harmless the event organizers, partners, and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, or damages that may arise from their involvement. All participants are expected to follow traffic laws and ride safely at their own risk.
