League Cycling Instructor (LCI) Training Seminar

Do you have a passion for inspiring students of all ages and a desire to share the thrill of biking with your community? Join Propel ATL as a League of American Bicyclists (LAB) Cycling Instructor!

Propel ATL, in collaboration with the City of Decatur, is hosting a League Cycling Instructor (LCI) training seminar May 2 - 4, 2025, to certify bike enthusiasts to join our phenomenal team of instructors!  We are offering five scholarships for this training opportunity.

League Cycling Instructor (LCI) Certification

League Cycling Instructors are often someone’s first introduction into the joy-filled world of bike riding and therefore play an important role in getting more people to believe that choosing to go places by bike is possible. People reach out to LCIs to:

  • learn how to ride and do so safely
  • host an event to help others in their  community ride more confidently
  • help more people in their community, business, or university get riding

The LCI training seminar provides cyclists with the skills and knowledge necessary to teach bicycle education in their communities. The seminar will focus on:

  • bicycle safety
  • bike laws and codes
  • navigating cycling in various environments
  • encouraging riders of all ages to gain the confidence to safely maneuver on a bike

Whether riding through bustling downtown Atlanta, the Beltline, or joining a group ride heading toward Grant Park, the LCI seminar will equip participants to adapt their teaching to a wide array of biking conditions and skill levels. It will allow those certified to teach Smart Cycling classes. LCIs will also gain access to the League of American Bicyclists (LAB) educational resources and professional network.
