Our Top 7 Priority Goals and Initiatives for 2018

  1. Adopt Vision Zero:

    • Mayor of Atlanta sets goal of zero traffic fatalities or injuries

    • Build a broad coalition to work for safe streets for all -- safe, inclusive, and equitable streets

    • City of Atlanta creates committee across city departments and led by community leaders and organizations

  2. Champion ATL DOT

    • Help form new Atlanta Department of Transportation/Mobility by reviewing legislation to create the department, participating on search committee for interim head, helping shape department structure, values, and goals  
    • Advocate that new department hire transportation engineers with bicycle infrastructure design training & experience
  3. Foster civic engagement

    • Foster engagement in communities by creating opportunities to connect with new City Councilmembers and Mayor and sharing our Community Advocacy Toolkit

    • Work with TransFormation Alliance to create community-led efforts to improve biking and walking access to West End and Oakland City MARTA stations

    • Continue to advance Bike Champions program

  4. Launch marketing campaigns to

    • Position biking as an expected aspect of city life (#ExpectBikes)

    • Humanize people who bike

  5. Align Atlanta Streets Alive routes with key street campaigns, to keep attention on projects for DeKalb, Marietta, and Peachtree. Continue to make Atlanta Streets Alive, our open streets initiatives to allow Atlantans to experience our vision, better and better. 

  6. Increase access to bike education

    • Improve confidence and knowledge of bike safety by improving access to and marketing of free bike classes

    • Seek funding for city-wide 2nd grade bike education program

  7. Advance our City Policy Platform - continue to work on the following elements from our 2017 election platform:
