Life After Cars LIVE

📍 Plaza Theatre
📆 Friday, March 13 @ 8 PM

GA Tickets $30 | VIP Tickets $100

From the hosts of The War on Cars podcast comes Life After Cars LIVE: a timely, energizing conversation about how we got stuck in car dependence and what it will take to build safer, healthier, more connected communities.

Join Propel ATL for a live, in-person discussion with the authors of Life After Cars: Freeing Ourselves from the Tyranny of the Automobile. Atlanta City Councilmember for District 2 Kelsea Bond, Sam Foster, and Beltline Kevin will join us as our featured local guests at Atlanta’s historic Plaza Theatre.

About the Book: Life After Cars

Cars shape nearly every part of modern life, but at a staggering cost. In Life After Cars, journalists and advocates Sarah Goodyear, Doug Gordon, and Aaron Naparstek unpack how car dependence has reshaped our cities, deepened inequities, harmed public health, and damaged the planet. Praised as “inspiring and hopeful,” “a call to action,” and “a much-needed shake-up,” Life After Cars invites all of us to imagine, and fight for, something better.

About the Featured Local Guests:

Councilmember Kelsea Bond represents Atlanta’s Second District and is a longtime advocate for sustainable transportation.

Kevin Randolph (AKA Beltline Kevin) is a beloved rollerblading neighbor and community connector known for bringing joy to Atlanta’s public spaces.

Sam Foster is a Marietta-based cyclist, a co-founder of A Better Cobb, and a longtime advocate for safer streets and more accessible transit.

Why This Event Matters

Atlanta is one of the most car-dominated cities in the country, so hosting Life After Cars LIVE here is both ironic and intentional.

Our streets have long been built around driving, often at the expense of safety, access, and connection. This event links a national conversation about car dependence with Atlanta’s on-the-ground work to create safer streets and real transportation choices.

It’s about naming the problem, imagining something better, and starting that shift right here in Atlanta.
