Build Bus Benches for Atlanta Transit Riders

Saturday, July 18
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Atlanta Wood Foundation

Every day, thousands of Atlantans wait for the bus with nowhere to sit.

While bus stops are a vital part of our transportation system, many still lack something as simple as a bench. Across the country, neighbors are stepping up to change that by building simple, durable benches for transit riders, and Atlanta is joining the movement.

Join Propel ATL and our partners for a community Bus Bench Build Day. Together, we'll assemble and prepare benches that will provide a more comfortable place for people waiting for the bus throughout our city.

No woodworking experience is necessary. We'll provide the tools, materials, instruction, and plenty of help. Whether you're a seasoned builder or have never picked up a drill, there's a place for you on the team.

What to Expect

  • Build bus benches alongside volunteers and community members

  • Learn about the growing Bus Bench Revolution and why these small projects matter

  • Meet others working to improve transit access in Atlanta

  • Help create a more welcoming and dignified experience for bus riders
