About Walk ATL in Mozley Park
Walk ATL is Propel ATL’s neighborhood-centered program that helps residents identify pedestrian safety challenges and move from planning to community-led action.
In Mozley Park, neighbors have used surveys, walk audits, workshops, and transportation data to identify priorities along Westview Drive, Laurel Avenue, and Chicamauga Avenue. That work informed a neighborhood Pedestrian Safety Action Plan and the design of a tactical urbanism project.
Tactical urbanism uses lower-cost, temporary changes to test improvements to streets and public spaces. It gives neighbors and city agencies a way to learn what works and build support for longer-term improvements.
The build day is an opportunity to put community planning into practice through the Westview crosswalk painting project.
From neighborhood priorities to action

- 2023–2024 · Building a shared plan Data collection, surveys, interviews, and community meetings helped shape the Pedestrian Safety Action Plan, which received community approval in July 2024.
- 2024–2025 · Preparing for implementation The team worked through project requirements, insurance, and design. Neighbors approved the project design in August 2025.
- November 14, 2026 · Community build day Neighbors and volunteers will help bring the Westview crosswalk painting project to life.
