Atlanta has bike/scoot lanes and trails. What it doesn’t have yet is a connected network.
Tuesday, September 15 | 6:00–7:30 PM
The Martin, 960 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW
One block from Ashby MARTA Station
Too often, a comfortable route ends suddenly, forcing people into fast traffic or making an everyday trip difficult without a car. Propel ATL has created a draft map of the safe, separated connections for people biking, scooting, and using other forms of micromobility that could link Atlanta’s core to the BeltLine, the Perimeter, and destinations in between.
Before we finalize the map and turn it into an advocacy plan, we need people who know Atlanta’s streets. Join us to identify missing connections, important destinations, safety barriers, and the routes that would make the biggest difference.
Bring one trip you wish you could make more safely. We’ll bring the map.
Why Atlanta needs a connected network
The Atlanta Beltline is creating a loop around the city, but people still need safe ways to reach it and travel beyond it.
Propel ATL is envisioning approximately 8–10 safe, comfortable routes connecting Atlanta’s core and the BeltLine to destinations near the Perimeter. The final map will guide our advocacy and could help inform Atlanta’s next Comprehensive Transportation Plan.
A connected network would give more people the option to reach work, school, transit, parks, businesses, and other destinations without relying on a car.
Help us improve the map
At this event, you’ll have a chance to look at our proposed network and share what you know about how people move around Atlanta.
- Identify routes and destinations that matter to you
- Point out missing connections
- Flag dangerous intersections, stressful streets, and other barriers
- Tell us which proposed routes would be most useful
- Suggest changes that would make the network more comfortable and accessible
You don’t need to be a transportation expert. Your experience getting around Atlanta is the expertise we need.
What happens after the meeting?
Following the session, Propel ATL will review the feedback and revise the draft network. Community input will be considered alongside:
- Equity and community vulnerability
- Bicycle crash and safety data
- Potential demand
- Traffic stress and rider comfort'
- Connections to transit, neighborhoods, businesses, trails, and other destinations
- We’ll share the revised network and explain how community feedback affected the final routes and priorities. The network will then guide Propel ATL’s advocacy for future transportation investment.
