With elections concluded and new members sworn in, there's now a new Atlanta City Council Transportation Committee. Past chair Byron Amos (District 3) remains on the committee, ceding his role as chair to Alex Wan (District 6). Newly elected member (and past MARTA board member) Thomas Worthy (District 7) also joins the committee, serving as vice chair.

The Transportation Committee is now composed of the following members:

- Dustin Hillis (District 9), Fatal Crash Review Commission Chair
- Mary Norwood (District 8)
- Matt Westmoreland (Post 2, At-Large)
- Thomas Worthy (District 7)
Meetings take place on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. To share your experiences and perspective with the committee members, please arrive 15 minutes beforehand to sign up for public comment.
One example: at the next meeting we plan to speak up about a persistent concern: streets getting repaved without a lick of safety improvements. (Photo below: Ralph McGill Blvd. NE after a recent repaving project.)

You can't just say "repaving makes streets safer" and make it true. It makes them smoother, yes, and easier on all kinds of tires, but smoother also means faster. And speed is the enemy of safety.
The Committee often hears from rideshare drivers, taxi operators, and airport employees, but less often from residents concerned with the lack of good, sustainable transportation options in our city. Let them hear from you! You can do this in person or by emailing a member of the committee. (Member names above are linked to their official City email addresses.)
