Have you or someone you know been directly impacted by traffic violence? We’re looking for people interested in sharing their stories with us for an upcoming report highlighting the human lives behind the statistics. The report will also give recommendations for making our roads safer spaces for everyone.
Too many lives are affected or even lost in metro Atlanta due to dangerous street design that makes it easy for motorized vehicles to speed and hard for people to get to the places they need to go safely.
Some sobering stats: Just 10% of Atlanta’s streets account for 50% of its pedestrian crash fatalities and 60% of its pedestrian and bicycle crashes. These streets are in neighborhoods with fewer features like sidewalks, crosswalks, and bike lanes that provide pedestrians with basic safety.
When we come together to share our stories, metro Atlanta’s pedestrian crash epidemic is revealed to be much more than any one person’s individual problem – but rather, a larger issue that can and should be addressed with better, safer streets for everyone, no matter how we get to where we need to go.
Share your story with us by contacting advocacy@letspropelatl.org with the subject line: “Call for stories.” No need to write out your full story in the email; just provide a good way to get in touch, and we’ll take it from there. Thanks.
