Where will you be in 9 days?
If you're not at Atlanta Streets Alive Highland+, you're missing a chance to witness the transformative effects of open streets on the community.
Join us on Sunday, September 27th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., as a 4.5-mile loop is opened to people on foot, bike, and other human-powered activities and closed to motorized traffic.
Did you join us last year? If so, then you know this is our biggest open streets of the year! More than 100,000 people joined us in walking and rolling the streets of Highland Avenue, North Highland, Boulevard, and North Avenue last year. And we're expecting for a wonderful turnout again this year. Check out the map on our website.
The Bicycle Parade and Opening Remarks
Join us for The Bicycle Parade, with the lineup at N. Highland Ave. and Virginia Ave, starting at 1:30 p.m. The theme is "Peace, Love, and Alternative Transportation" in tribute to the Atlantans of the 1960s, '70s, and '80s who stopped a highway from being built through their neighborhoods.
Opening remarks will be made at 1:45 p.m. Featured guests are Tim Keane, Atlanta's new Planning Commissioner, and Councilman Hall.
